A summer pop-up in the Venetian lagoon
Hostaria in Certosa, the Alajmo Group's summer pop-up restaurant, offers the city of Venice a place to enjoy the whole day, from breakfast, to a mid-morning tramezzino and spritz, to lunch, dinner and after-dinner cocktails prepared by our bartender, Lucas Kelm. Created in collaboration with Alberto Sonino, founder of the Vento di Venezia, the restaurant can seat about a hundred people outdoors and thirty indoors, plus lounges and various sitting areas. In addition, Hostaria offers a take-away service that allows you to easily order and pay online, and then pick up the order directly with your boat, in a dedicated berth.
Designed by Max Alajmo, the Hosteria in Certosa menu offers simple Italian classics, perfect for a warm summer’s day, from grilled baby cuttlefish with polenta and fish tartare, to pastas and spit-roasted chicken and guinea hen. The bar menu includes tramezzini and panini, as well as soft-serve gelato and a variety of refreshing cocktails.
The restaruant has the features of a modern osteria with a simple but refined design and many nautical details, including the staff uniforms made with fabrics commonly used by the crews of yachts. Italian lighting designer, Davide Groppi's lamps on the tables create a sense of intimacy and make for an enchanting atmosphere in the evening.
The young staff at Hosteria in Certosa, lead by Michele Pozzani, offers informal, but attentive service. Silvio Giavedoni, who has worked by Max Alajmo’s side for over 10 years, heads up the kitchen, while the bar is managed by Lucas Kelm, head barman of the Alajmo Group.
